There are many different grades of sugared almonds with the cheaper qualities using thicker coats of sugar coating to compensate both for the lower quality and often bitter almonds used, as well as to make up weight. Our almonds are first peeled to remove the bitter husk, before being lightly coated with a thin layer of sugar meaning you get more high quality almonds per kilogram box.
